On Friday July 16th, 2015, I visited the Sunrise Pickleball Club at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights. They ran a very informal double elimination tournament. These courts are in dismal condition with huge 2 inch cracks and divots and the nets are not regulation because they use the existing tennis net. Some of the nets are not adjustable steel nets, however there is a plan to upgrade the courts by next years due to the effort of the club members. Since these are public courts, the folks in Citrus Heights formed a club that plays regularly 5 days a week. Steve Cooper is the main person responsible for Pickleball in the Citrus Heights area. Hopefully, we will have to do a tournament or a fun play get together with this group in the near future.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays you can find us at Rusch Park from 7:30-11:30am. Start times change with the weather: a little earlier in the summer, a little later in the winter.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we play at Crosswoods park, near the Sylvan Oaks library, from 7:30am-11:00am AND in the evenings from 6:30-8:30. Those evening court times vary in the summer. See the Crosswoods page for more details.
